Cheddar’s Casual Cafe in Wellington, FL – “Three Days of Cheddars”

Overall our experience at the new Cheddar’s Casual Café that just opened in Wellington, Fl, was a strange but interesting one. Be aware that the waiters are still really untrained and will screw something up. But also know that the bar is a good choice for relaxing and having a good drink, while avoiding the long wait times and pesky waiters. The food was overall ok but the prices were amazing.

If you have driven through 441 in Wellington, FL during the last 6 months, you may have noticed a few new restaurants and fast food places that have been under construction for quite some time. One of these restaurants is Cheddar’s Casual Café. My husband and I noticed the construction a while back, and rejoiced at the prospect of having a new place to hang out with friends and drink on the weekends. Needless to say, when Cheddar’s Casual Café finally opened a week ago, we went there to eat not once, not twice..but THREE times! Even though the place is new and the staff is completly lost, my experiance was less than excellent. We went with my family (6 people in our table). The waitress took our drink order and the i ask for a coke. She said they were out of coke. (Who runs out of coke… The most popular drink ever!) she took forever to bring our drinks and then she dissapired. Then she came back and took our food order. I ordered steak and chicken tenders. The waitress didnt ask me how i wanted my steak, but ok. My sis in law ordered beef stew. When they finally got to getting our food it was great. However my steak was completly raw on one side. I had to try to eat it all. And am a pure steak and potatoes kind of guy. My sis in law’s beef stew was actually pork. The waitress said that the cooks might have changed the meat cause they ran out and they didnt tell them. Who sells beef stew and when you get it is white meat. What part of beef is white?! My chicken tenders were big andwere tasty. I had to ask for water three times before i got it. Overall, the service stunk and the food wasnt memerable. It will be a long while before i come back…
I know that the burgers at Cheddars are real cheap but I didn’t expect that the Burgers wouldn’t come with fries. They charged me an extra $2.00 for somthing that already belongs with a burger

My family, friends and I had nothing short of an enjoyable time at Cheddar’s. The prices were fabulous and the quality of food was better than many of the “brand name” restaurants we go to and spend more money. We did have a wait but the night was cool and we did get in as fast as possible. The ambience of the restaurant leant itself to getting together for a good time. The aquarium in the front will be an inviting setup for young ones as the youngest member of our group spent a good amount of time standing mesmerized watching the fish. Our wait staff did take some time getting the food to us because it was a Saturday night at a brand new restaurant so that was to be expected. I do commend the staff though because they did continually provide us with free food up to the point that we received food. We never had to pay extra for fries so Im not sure why that was the case with the afore mentioned writer. We ordered drinks and were pleasantly surprised at not only the size but the quality of the drinks. We left there with full bellies and happy faces. We will be returning with more friends this weekend.

AS A CHEF, I WAS SENT IN TO MISTREY SHOP, WE SAT AT THE END OF THE BAR, WHERE A MENU WAS BLOCKING THE HOT AIR FROM THE SMOOTHIE MACHINE!! THERE FORE THE MACHINE WAS IN THE WRONG PLACE….NOT ON A SERVING TOP!!! WE ORDERED AN APPITISER…CRAB DIP, IT CAME OUT CRAB SOUP I ORDERED COUNTRY FRIED STEAK, IT CAME OUT COUNTRY FRIED SHOE LEATHER!! AND WHEN I ASKED FOR A MANAGER, I GOT NO RESPONCE UNTIL I PUSHED MY PLATE AWAY!! BUT BEFOR THAT WE WENT OUT SIDE TO SEE WHAT WAS THERE…..PLENTY OF EMPTY SEATS, WHEN ASKED IF WE COULD CHANGE OUR SEATING TO OUTSIDE OUR WAITRES/BARMAID/SERVER SAID…AND I QUOTE “NO, IF YOU GO OUT THERE YOU HAVE TO REPLACE YOUR ORDER, AND I WONT GET A TIP!!!” SOME THINGS CAN BE GOOD HERE!!! WITH THE RITE TRAINING!!
